The Power of Words

Just recently, I had the opportunity to speak with a fellow co-worker from a previous job. We talked about life, ministry, family and such. We started talking about how God had his hand on our lives at this point in time. In this conversation he proceeded to speak some words to me that were very powerful.

The words were: “Thank you”. Mind blowing right? There comes a time in our lives when we need to hear those words coming from a boss, wife, husband, friend, etc. Everyone of us on earth needs to feel, at some point in lives, that we are making a difference, no matter what you are doing, and a simple thank you can help us feel that we are.

This should remind us and encourage us to take the time everyday to say “thank you” to those around us who do above and beyond what they are asked. The list could also include: your boss, fellow co-worker, husband, spose, children, staff member and church leaders/volunteers.

While I take no credit and defer it straight back to Christ when it comes to hearts and minds that accept Jesus and choose to trust their lives in His hands, it is great to know that I helped make a difference in the life of a student and his family.

So, to close this post, I want to say “thank you” for allowing me to share my life with your family and student. “Thank you” for allowing me to be an influence in his life. “Thank you!”

“This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.”

John 13:35 (MSG)
